I really like this painting and am especially pleased with the sculptural feeling of the bathing suit area and the legs. The colors were an experiment for me too. (What reads in this photo as blue is actually a greenish gray.) I think I'm getting back to my love of sculpture, and my student studies of it. In the end, I found the materials (marble and wood) cumbersome because of size and weight although I loved shaping them with hammer and chisel. Paintings are more portable. And tomorrow I'll transport myself to NYC to see the Matisse show. Whee!!

Yes, it's lovely Marie. I especially like the modelling on the legs - superb. I can see very clearly the evidence of your experience and love of sculpture. Enjoy the Matisse show! That will be something different I think. I am planning a trip to London soon to see the new Gaugin exhibition.

I think this is my favorite of your recent lovely ladies. Wonderful work with a nice balance of Impressionism and Realism.

I love the way you make it all look so easy... but of course, it's not!
