This was a fun one to paint in that I was trying to restrict my colors and details, and to emphasize form. (But I do love color so some are bright.) On the figure I used many small strokes following the shape of the body. It's a true luxury to sit making small brush strokes around an arm or torso, searching for and evoking form. The process reminds me of working with egg tempera. In this painting, there seems to be a story too. -->

Wow, this is stunning. Just Stunning. I can feel and touch this woman's body. Mysterious as well with her facial expression so serious, her power almost masculine and the presence of the columns suggests Greek mythology and its teaching lessons. So what I like is it's not just someone leaving off the dock at Marina del Rey, but sailing to a destination of purpose, however undefined.
