I loved this cross-armed pose and eventually created a setting I found a bit mysterious. I'm pleased with the color combination and the sense of dusk.

This is an imaginary view of the Ferris Wheel on the Santa Monica Pier. The circle began as an abstraction but with touches of color came to suggest this amusement park over the Pacific. I'm happy with the shapes of the woman and chair as well as the overall composition. A completed painting always surprises me in that I discover new bits that I really like.

I like the effect of painting on a black surface and outlining the figure with orange. She's wonderfully too big for the sofa yet comfortable enough to get into a good sleep. I'm eager to explore these painting techniques further.
