This painting is an odd combination of objects, but was a joy to paint. I loved looking closely at the folds of the paper and the intricate pattern on the silver spoon. The reddish background is an overall layer I applied long before starting the painting. I liked the reddish glow so did not paint over it other than where the objects are. I've always like this little painting.

This painting is very inventive - pear on paper and spoon - simple and elegant at the same time - as well as beautifully painted!
