Having recently painted a flower in a glass container, I decided to try another. I find it a real challenge to paint both flowers and glass. The many colorful details of a flower seduce me into trying to capture them in paint. If I proceed without a sense of overall shapes and values, I'm sunk. Glass is tricky too but I absolutely love the way it - and water - distort objects seen through them. I'm happy with this little flower in a glass jar painting.

My friends joke that I say, “I love it” all the time. However, I am willing to take the chance that they will shake their heads and say; “there she goes again”. I love it how you capture both the softness of the flower and the firmness of the glass. Also I love how you make the pink and yellow of the flower and the green of the leaves pop.
Marie, This is breathtaking. I love it and you have to realize that you definitely have a God given talent. I've tried flowers and glass and neither is easy to make it look like you have done here. Thanks, Joy
Hi Marie! I agree with the previous comments and I would like to add that the flowers and glass look cheerful and refreshing!
This is really very appealing. I like the colors, contrasts (light reflections) and
loose-but-recognizeable brushwork!!
Way to go.
this is beautiful :)
my daughter's name is azalea :) i'll keep my eye on this one ;)

Wow, Marie! I wish I'D done that!!! I love how your brushstrokes "sculpt" the forms and shape of color and value.
