More roses from my yard. This time I set them in a vintage green syrup pitcher - or maybe it's a creamer. It anchors down a card I've long treasured, of Degas' drawing/pastel called The Laundress. I've always loved her expression. She looks up from her ironing as if she has just spotted the viewer. I'm happy with this painting.
Comment by email: Hi Marie, Your painting is magnificent! You have inspired me to do paintings featuring a Matisse and this same degas painting that I have always loved. Jane

Another yummy painting! I love the colors in this one.. the pinks and reds against the color of the jug wonderful. I have been comparing paintings of male and female artists and noticed that women tend to paint with more colour and brighter, to me.... happy paintings.
